Efecem Kutuk is a New York based multidisciplinary design academician and designer specializing in furniture, lighting, commercial products, and interiors. Kutuk's well-rounded design background and informed aesthetic is the product of his diverse and international experiences. An expert in bringing products to market and refining their fabrication; before launching his own business, Efecem worked as the Marketing Manager & Director of Design at an American modern furniture wholesaler, and prior to that as an Interior Architect, focusing primarily on hospitality interiors for an Ankara-based construction company. Familiar with designs on several levels, he began his career as a Junior Interior Architect at an architecture firm in Istanbul. His current portfolio has since grown to include award-winning furniture designs, table top designs, retail and residential interiors and hotel projects. His academic career began by teaching Industrial / Product design classes at Drexel University, then Montclair State University, and at present, he is teaching at NJIT. Efecem earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design from Bilkent University in Ankara and a Masters degree in Industrial Design from Milan's elite Scuola Politechnica di Design.
